The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) announced on Tuesday its collaboration and support for the next Sustainability, Opportunity, Future, Technologies (S.O.F.T.) Conference, which will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from July 29 to 30, 2025.

They stated that the alliance seeks to increase diaspora engagement and participation in Africa’s development agenda.

On May 8th, 2025, in a letter to Dr. Godwin Aigboiose Omage, Chairman of GAF Africa, the Godwin Aigboviose Foundation, and Eki Co-Net, the Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, confirmed receipt of the invitation to participate in the diaspora participation element of the conference.

Dabiri-Erewa acknowledged the commission’s appreciation for the effort and confirmed its conformity with NiDCOM’s mandate.

Accroding to her: “The S.O.F.T. Conference is positioned as a significant global event focused on driving Africa’s economic transformation through sustainability, opportunities, and future technologies.

“It aims to unite entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and policymakers to foster partnerships and explore investment opportunities across the African continent.

“The conference intends to create a platform for global investment networks to participate in shaping Africa’s role in the global economy through strategic investments and collaborative innovation. It will feature insights from industry leaders, discussions on public-private partnerships, and showcases of technological advancements in areas like AI, cybersecurity, fintech, and energy solutions.”
